Kogla is a gigantic ape from the plane of Ikoria.[1]
History
While visiting Skysail, the planeswalker Vivien Reid witnessed an attack by a small flotilla of military airships, trying to rescue a young woman from the clutches of Kogla. However, it was quickly revealed that the girl was the bonder of the gigantic ape, much to the embarrassment of Skysail's soldiers.
March of the Machine
During New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse, Kogla, like other Ikorian beasts, grew crystals on its body that repelled glistening oil. Alongside Yidaro, it fought back against the giant monstrosities of the Copper Host. Kogla used Yidaro's crystal-covered shell as a blunt weapon, although it was unclear whether Yidaro realized this.[2]

Trivia
- Kogla is clearly inspired by King Kong, the famous movie monster. Its activated ability and its art depict a recreation of the famous scene where the giant ape climbs the Empire State Building with a girl in its hands, while airplanes are attacking it.
