Victor is a human warlock from Duskmourn. He is the seneschal of the Cult of Valgavoth.

Description

The leader of the Cult of Valgavoth is also known as the "First Child of the All-Devouring Father". He is an unimposing figure, soft-spoken, and of barely medium height.[1] He wears robes, spectacles clouded by tiny scratches, and carries a leather-bound book laced with sedative moth powder.[2][3] His stern, paternal aura masks a chilling blankness and utter lack of self.

Victor has undergone the Rite of the Threshold over three dozen times—more than anyone ever has in House memory. It's not clear if the man Victor used to be exists anymore, or if his mind has been completely scoured clean of his sense of self, reducing him to little more than a mindless husk that carries out Valgavoth's bidding. He's the only person who communicates directly with the All-Devouring Father, interpreting Valgavoth's whispered suggestions into directives for the rest of the cult. He's also the only one who knows the location of the entrance to the Below, where Valgavoth's lair is located.[4][5]

The Imagora is the seneschal's inner circle of hand-picked advisors. They are charged with carrying out secret assignments that even the rest of the cult can't know about, sometimes occasionally even culling other cultists.

History

When Nashi, Niko Aris and the Wanderer were betrayed by Winter and captured by the Cult, Victor attempted to extract their knowledge of other planes to present Valgavoth with more opportunities to open doors to those planes.[1] The ceremony was interrupted by the timely arrival of Tyvar Kell, Zimone Wola and Kaito Shizuki. It is unclear if Victor survived the ensuing fight.
