Conflict between the brothers rises, with Tocasia caught in between. She dies when hit by energy beams from the stones. Mishra flees into the desert and is enslaved by Fallaji nomads. Urza becomes an apprentice to the clockmaker Rusko in Kroog.

The War

27-28

  • A new peace conference in Kroog also ends disastrously and marks the official beginning of the Brothers' War.
  • Gix enters Dominaria.

28

  • In a single morning, Kroog is destroyed by dragon engines led by Traxos.[1][2] The Qadir of the Fallaji is killed. Mishra is appointed the new Qadir.
  • Teferi Akosa makes his second jump back in time, searching for the Last Battle.[1][3]

28-64

29

33

34

35

  • Argive and Korlis effectively unite. Urza is appointed Lord Protector of the combined kingdoms.

38

  • The combined kingdoms invade and liberate Yotia. Yotia is subsumed into Argive and Korlis.

39-42

  • Tawnos is captured.

43

  • Ashnod helps Tawnos to escape. The Brotherhood of Gix discover this and persuade Mishra to banish her. Ashnod leaves for Almaaz. Tawnos returns to Argive. Harbin begins training as an ornithopter pilot. Mishra's forces begin to attack Terisia City.
  • The Tomakul Campaign of 955 PF begins, an Argivian cavalry-led counterattack that will push the front lines from the Mardun's border with Kroog to within miles of Tomakul, where Mishra is seated.[4][5]

~44

  • Mishra suppresses rebellion in Sarinth and sends its soldiers to the Argivian Front outside Tomakul.[5]

44

  • Winter – Argivian forces reach within ten miles of Tomakul before being routed.[5]
  • Teferi makes his third jump back in time.[5][3]
  • The Gixians betray the Third Path. Terisia City falls. Hurkyl dies defending the city. Drafna, Feldon, and Loran flee. Loran is later captured by Ashnod, who takes the Golgothian Sylex.

55

57

  • Gix lures Urza and Mishra to Argoth. The brothers strip the island of its resources during their battles.

~63

63-64

  • The Last Battle of the Brothers' War takes place.[5] Gix drives all of the artifact creatures in both armies mad. During the battle, Ashnod hands the Sylex to Tawnos before she is injured by Gix. Tawnos then gives it to Urza. Mishra is revealed to have been altered by Phyrexian constructs.
  • Urza activates the Sylex.[6] Teferi makes his final jumps back in time, meeting with Urza during the blast in a moment beyond time. The blast obliterates Argoth, killing its inhabitants including Titania, turns Urborg into a swamp, and sends all of Dominaria into an Ice Age. Urza ascends. The Shard of the Twelve Worlds begins to form. Gix and his minions retreat to Phyrexia.[3]

Aftermath

  • In the aftermath of the war, Argive, Yotia, Yumok, Malpiri, and Korlis collapse. Almaaz is the only city-state on Terisiare to remain intact. The Dark Age begins.
  • The nascent Church of Tal begins a crusade against artifice and magic, purging the Gixian lands in the north of Terisiare. After destroying the Monastery of Gix, they march south through the Great Desert to Kroog, then east to Korlis on the path to Urza's Tower.[4]

69

  • Winter – Tawnos returns to Penregon.[4]
  • Spring – The unsuccessful Siege of Penregon by Talites takes place over a single day. Tawnos leaves Penregon. The age of artifice ends.[7]

79

  • Autumn – Kayla is one of the last to leave Penregon, travelling west to avoid the encroaching cold.[7]

80

85

  • Teferi makes his first jump back in time. Fask, the warlord of Kroog, is driven mad.[7][3]

4562

  • A cadre of planeswalkers including Teferi, Saheeli Rai, and Kaya Cassir, searching for a solution to the growing New Phyrexian threat, use time travel to return to the time of the Brothers' War and learn the use of the Sylex.[8][9][3]
