Common trends

Going over the list, I'm seeing a few common types of articles that got flagged in the initial sweep. Some of them can clearly be expanded beyond stubs, and I've tackled a few tonight. I'd like input on the following:

  • Characters with minimal presence. Abrado, Alandra, Alirios, and so on. Each of those articles is a piece of card art (in one case, possibly not even the named character), along with a description of that art, along with speculative inferences from the art and card text.
  • Assorted lore elements with minimal presence. These span from recent creations like Alhammarret's Archive which are similar to the characters above, to much older articles like Aldon's Hovel, Amulet of Ti-Fu, or Angel-Keeper. While the more recent lore topics might someday be expanded, I doubt we'll ever expand any of those last three.
    • My proposal: Merge with redirect to an appropriate broader topic. Some relatively recent lore elements might be true stubs.
  • Real persons. Alan Canode, Andrew Finch, Andrew Smith are all Wizards employees. We've also got some pro players in there, like Alex Parrish, who won the first Gen Con tournament two weeks after Alpha came out.
    • My proposal: Put these guys into list articles. If we can source more robust and relevant bio information for individuals, they might be notable enough for their own articles, but I think that credit information is typically minimal, and few of these folks publish anything beyond their direct contributions to the cards. I would support a push to credit developers more generally. --Corveroth (talk) 07:20, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

All three of those proposals seem good to me. I also want to flag one-off counter types (e.g. Bloodline counter and Currency counter), which prompted a discussion in 2022 that never went anywhere. This project has prompted me to restart the discussion, and I'd appreciate it if people weighed in on the linked talk page. --Inktog (talk) 14:45, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

All of these articles have now either been deleted, turned into a redirect, marked with a proper stub tab, or fleshed out.--Varghedin (talk) 19:08, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
