Montford was an outpost town of Icatia, on the continent of Sarpadia on the plane of Dominaria.

History

Montford lay to the south of Havenwood in the northwest portion of Icatia and housed many troops due to its location. It was also fortified with scouts and higher defenses to counterbalance the heavy concentration of the Farrelites. Oliver Farrel himself was very active in this city, as was his champion Sianna.[1]

After the dwarven empire of the Sarpadian Mountains fell to orcs and goblins, the horde headed south and encroached upon Montford. However, a heavy concentration of scouts enabled the Icatians to mobilize quickly against the forces. One of these, Ailis Connaut, gave her life to reveal the army's position, ensuring the orcs would flee and leave the goblins to be routed.[2]

After Farrel slew his ex-lover Tymolin Loneglade, Tymolin's brother Tevesh Szat opened a Planar Gate over the town in revenge. Through the gate spilled forth the orc-goblin army that immediately attacked, backed by the full fury of the planeswalker.[3] The town ultimately fell, leaving the way open for the orcs and goblins to advance upon Trokair and then Windenby.
