Plane | Dominaria |
Part of | Jamuura |
The Great Wall is a huge stone wall that cuts off the Western Wastes of southwestern Jamuraa on Dominaria. Lying south of the Blue Mountains, it neatly separates the Western Wastes from the western part of the landmass, which includes the forest of Arboria. To the south lies the Craggy Coast.
It is not a natural-hewn cliff, but a hand-laid wall more than two hundred feet tall. At the top lies a forest of pines, so high that snow dusts the rocks. The wall runs for miles, curving inward. It is made of rough stones, bigger than houses, carefully stacked and chinked with smaller rocks, not hewn by a hammer. Each layer of stone was set back a small interval.
History
Hazezon Tamar speculated that the wall must have been built with magic by wizards or planeswalkers, long before the Ice Age, and that it was perhaps tens of thousands of years old in 3334 AR. Hazezon came to the wall at that time to follow the trail of Johan, who had headed west from Palmyra to enter Shauku's domain. Hazezon beseeched the desert spirits and cast a teleport spell, which moved Adira Strongheart, Jedit Ojanen, Jasmine Boreal, Lieutenant Peregrine, Virgil, Sister Wilemina, Heath, Sergeant Murdoch, Whistledove Kithkin, and Simone the Siren to the top of the wall, while Hazezon himself stayed behind with his entourage.[1]
