The Arena Beginner Set is a MTG Arena-exclusive card set that was released on August 4, 2020.[1]
Description
In August 2020, Magic: The Gathering Arena introduced new player decks. Unlike previous version, the monocolored decks that each received after the tutorial matches were designed to stay rotation-proof beyond Standard 2021. The Arena Beginner Set was especially created for this prpose.
It was announced that the cards of this set would stay legal in Best-of-One matches until further notice. Studio X especially selected introductory cards that were good for new players learning to play Magic: The Gathering for the very first time and provide some obvious choices for cards players may look to replace when upgrading their decks.
To facilitate the creation of the NPE (New Player Experience) and to transition players smoothly into the normal play experience the designers introduced some MTG Arena-exclusive digital cards.
