Allusions

Most of the cards in Time Spiral were inspired by cards from Magic's past.[2][3][4] The following Points of Interest attempt to identify these inspirations for the non-Timeshifted cards.

Academy Ruins Tolarian Academy, Volrath's Stronghold Academy Ruins shows what happened to the Tolarian Academy years later. Its activated ability is the blue version of Volrath's Stronghold.
Aether Web Web Aether Web is a 2-mana Web that grants an equal pump to both power and toughness than just toughness and also grants the enchanted creature the ability to block creatures with shadow.
Aetherflame Wall Wall of Diffusion, Wall of Fire Aetherflame Wall has 1 less toughness in exchange for being able to do both what Wall of Diffusion and Wall of Fire can do.
Amrou Scout Amrou Kithkin, Ramosian Lieutenant Amrou Scout's activated tutor ability has the number 3 on it similar to the power of creatures who can't block Amrou Kithkin and the mana value of the creatures Ramosian Lieutenant can tutor. Its ability refers to other Rebel creatures from the Masques block.
Amrou Seekers Amrou Kithkin, Seeker Kithkins who can't be blocked by certain creatures. Amrou Seekers' evasion ability is similar to Seeker as if a Kithkin was already enchanted by said aura.
