The Pioneer Masters bonus sheet is a Pioneer-legal set of cards associated with Pioneer Masters on Magic: The Gathering Arena.[2]

Description

The bonus sheet brings 120 cards (15 commons, 60 uncommons, 5 rares, 35 mythic rares) to Magic: The Gathering Arena. It is similar to the Shadows of the Past of Shadows over Innistrad Remastered, with the cards having a guaranteed slot in the boosters of the main set and having a certain influence on the Limited environment. The distribution is unusual compared to previous, as two of the sheets have no rares and 15 mythics, and all three have a cycle of commons.[3]

Distribution

Packs bought from the store have a guaranteed Bonus sheet card per booster.

For draft and sealed events, Wizards of the Coast again works with a themed subset release schedule. For each of the three two-week periods post-release, only a subset of the cards is available in the bonus sheet card slot. The three general themes are "Planeswalkers" (for December 10-24), "Spells" (December 24–January 7), and "Devotion" (January 7–21).

Tokens

As a digital product, Shadows of the Past does not contain any tokens but a number of cards in the set generate tokens, so a list is provided below for reference.

Trivia

  • Bounding Krasis appears to have been selected in error; its number places it in the monogreen cards, there is one fewer uncommon green card than the other four colors, and it has no particular synergy with Devotion, its allocated bonus sheet. There is no indication which card it is meant to be, if indeed incorrect.
  • Sphinx of Magosi is the only card in the whole of Pioneer Masters to be legal in Pioneer from a preconstructed product, that of Welcome Deck 2016, rather than from a randomized booster product. Its original printing was in Rise of the Eldrazi.
