Noah Boeken is a Dutch former Magic player who later became an accomplished Poker player.[1]
Professional career
At the 1997 Pro Tour Chicago, Boeken finished 15th, and at the Pro Tour Mainz, he finished 32nd. His greatest accomplishment was winning the 2000 European Championship.[2][3] He also won two Grand Prix. He formed the team known as ABU (AlphaBetaUnlimited) along with Chris Benafel, David Williams, and Ryan Fuller in the early 2000s. With Team ABU, he won the Team Masters Series in Japan 2001. Because of their behavior, the team had a bad reputation.[4]
After his success in Magic: The Gathering, he focused on poker. At the European Championship, he had met former PokerStars pro David Williams. Williams taught Boeken the tricks of the trade, but it was Marcel Lüske who literally took Noah in to help him become a poker pro.[5] Boeken's first major finish in the money was at the 2003 Master Classics of Poker, where he finished 4th in the €200 no-limit hold'em event. He waited until 2013 for his greatest achievement, when he won the Main Event and over €300,000 at the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam.[6]
