You are Nissa Revane, a warrior of the Joraga, a tribe of elves on Zendikar. To survive on such a wild plane, you must be tough and practical. However, you are uncannily attuned to nature. Elemental forces respond to your command, a gift some in your tribe fear.
”
There are five matches in which the player represents Nissa against a series of computer-controlled opponents. Decks start at 40 cards, with 5 added each match for a total of 60 for the final match.
In the first match, Nissa (monogreen) faces the monoblack Vampire Stalkers.
“
You have recurring visions that leave you with the unshakable feeling that there's a darkness hunting you. In an attempt to protect your tribe from whatever is after you, you flee Joraga territory. Not far outside the safety of the forest, you detect the unmistakable scent of vampires.[5]
Though you repressed your elemental powers around the Joraga, now you let them flow. The stalking vampires will not bother you again. As your connection with the land deepens, you begin to understand that the darkness is not hunting you, it's calling you. There's a blight deep in the continent of Akoum--that is where you must go.[5]

Nissa's second mission
In the second match, Nissa faces a monoblue deck representing The Roil.
“
As you draw closer to the mountains of Akoum, you can feel the land churn with the raw magic of the plane. This is the Roil--the manifestation of Zendikar's wild mana. Before you can react, you are caught up in it.[5]
As the Roil subsides, the land before you coalesces into an earthen beastlike form. The elemental approaches you with its head low, and you know that it is an ally. You form a bond with it, and you sense that it will guide you the rest of the way to Akoum.[5]
”
Nissa's third mission
In the third match Nissa faces a typalEldrazi deck. The opponent starts with 100 life and Emrakul, the Aeons Torn in hand. To win the match, the player needs to survive until the mana Emrakul is cast.
“
Your journey into the mountains becomes harder with each step. As you approach a towering peak, the darkness grows into something almost tangible. The land tells you this is the source of the blight. You reach out to it, and suddenly your mind is overwhelmed by otherworldly visions of an ancient horror.[5]
You've seen too much. The power of the entity hibernating within the land threatens to drive you mad. You scream, clinging desperately to sanity. Around you, the mountain, the horror within it, and Zendikar itself all begin to fade away.[5]
”
Nissa's fourth mission
In the fourth match, Nissa finds herself on the plane of Lorwyn facing a tribe of Boggarts. This is a Goblintypal deck.
“
Your first planeswalk brings you to Lorwyn. You can't shake the image of the horror in the mountain. You encounter an elf named Dwynen, who tells you their home is threatened. Inspired to help defend your elvish cousins, you join them on a hunt.[5]
To your horror, the hunting party massacres a group of boggarts. You're appalled at the murder of these innocent creatures. Dwynen claims that the boggarts' hideousness is reason enough for the slaughter. You will not abide such evil.[5]
”
Nissa's fifth mission
In the final match Nissa faces Dwynen with a Elftypal deck.
“
You intervene on the boggarts' behalf, and Dwynen and her elves quickly turn on you. As they chase you through the woods, you feel a connection to this new land forming. You call on both your elemental powers and your skills as a Joraga warrior. These elves don't know what they're in for.
There are many places you could go now that you're a Planeswalker, but the memory of the ancient horror that slumbers on your home plane haunts you. It's time to return to Zendikar and prepare for what is to come.[5]
