Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 is a digital Magic game developed by Stainless Games that came out June 15, 2011 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows.[1][2] It's the sequel to Duels of the Planeswalkers (2009).
Description
Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 featured:[3][4]
- New graphics [5] and music.
- The new Archenemy format, where the player and two allies (players or AI) must work together to take down a powerful Archenemy and survive the extra powers from the Archenemy's special scheme deck
- Ten new decks using cards from the latest Magic:The Gathering, including the upcoming Magic 2012 Core Set. Each deck offered 16 additional cards that could be unlocked.[6][7]
- The ability to modify decks to play the way players want. They could add or remove cards from both starting cards and earned unlocked cards for each deck.[8]
- Fifteen puzzling challenge levels, with difficulties ranging from easy to hard, including new Archenemy challenges.
- Three- and Four-Player Enhanced Co-op Play. For the first time, players could invite their friends to partner up with them to take on the Archenemy or play against live opponents in Two-Headed Giant competition.
Purchasers of the game received access to a coupon which could be redeemed for an alternate art Frost Titan (Steam), Grave Titan (Xbox) or Inferno Titan (PS3).[9]
