The campaign for Magic Duels: Amonkhet follows Neheb as they go through a series of trials.[1]
“ | The two suns of Amonkhet illuminate the city as you march with your fellow initiates toward the monument before you. You’ve prepared for this day since birth, the commencement of your journey to prove yourself worthy in the eyes of the God-Pharaoh and the five Gods. You begin at Oketra’s monument, where you and your companions must demonstrate solidarity to survive.[2] | ” |
There are four matches with 60-card preconstructed decks against a series of computer-controlled opponents, as well as two different puzzles.
First mission
The first match of the campaign has Neheb's deck facing the monowhite Trial of Solidarity.
“ | In the vast interior of the monument, the first trial begins. The goal is to retrieve the arrow of Oketra from the hands of her powerful guardians. Your group rushes forward in formation to seize the arrow. One of the guardians, a majestic angel, holds it high overhead.[2] | ” |

“ | Arrow in hand, you reach Oketra’s audience chamber. She greets you warmly as you fall into line to receive the token of her favor: an intricately inlaid cartouche. It hovers before settling into your trembling hands. The metal is warm and soothes your nerves as you prepare for the next trial.[2] | ” |
Second mission
The second match of the campaign isn't a full game, instead there are two different puzzles to solve.
“ | The grand illusionary labyrinth within Kefnet’s monument twists and turns you in all directions. You are in the domain of the god of knowledge, who challenges you to employ your wits to pass through. The walls themselves move like liquid beneath your touch. Strange phantasmal forms grasp at you. You struggle to make sense of your bewildering surroundings before you are lost.[2] | ” |
- Victory message
“ | You manage to compose your thoughts and outwit the labyrinth. As you pass through the final doorway, you suddenly find yourself before Kefnet. He does not look up as you enter. He anticipated your arrival long ago. He offers you his reward—the cartouche of knowledge. Now that you have proven your mental fortitude, the trial of strength can begin.[2] | ” |
Third mission
The third match of the campaign has Neheb's deck against the monogreen Trial of Strength.
“ | Within his monument, the god Rhonas has assembled a collection of wild beasts to challenge your prowess in battle. The hiss of serpentine heads and barely audible clawed footfalls keep you on edge. You keep a white-knuckled grip on your weapon as you make your way through the snarling gauntlet of foes.[2] | ” |

“ | The shadowy interior of Bontu’s monument signals dark intentions. Will you put the pursuit of your own glory before that of your companions?
