Kinymu is a Jamuraan city-state that forms part of the Kipamu League. Situated about a hundred leagues inland from the sea, Kinymu contributed troops and resources to the League’s efforts to defend Jamuraa against the invading Keldon forces during the Prophecy War.
History
When the renowned mage Barrin arrived to inspect the combined forces of Kinymu and Arsenal City, he found Mageta serving as the army’s commanding officer. Despite Barrin’s intervention and leadership, the Kipamu League’s army, including Kinymu’s contingent, ultimately suffered defeat at the hands of the Keldons - though the Keldons later withdrew from Jamuraa shortly before the Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria.
Kinymu is also remembered for the story behind the seashell cameo, made after a seashell fell from the empty sky in Kinymu, a hundred leagues from the sea. It was found by the master carver Isel, who was torn between carving a woman or a bird inside the shell. In the end, Isel carved both — carving the inside of the fallen shell with the shape of an angel - a bit of both woman and bird.[1]
