Ironhold was the major city and fortress of the Iron Kingdom on Corondor, located in the area where Trine the fallen angel was bound by Xarl.

History

In the Time of Legends, all living 100,457 Ganarians of Gan were destroyed by the fallen angel Trine as ordered by warlord Mandek Ironfist. When Mandek's forces entered the city, they found the buildings themselves relatively untouched, though its inhabitants had been consumed, body and soul. Mandek took over the city and founded the Iron Kingdom centered there, renaming the city itself Ironhold.

346 years later, Ironhold became the scene of the Absolution of Trine, when the fallen angel was killed by her former sister, Rahel, and absolved of her crimes. Though the city sustained minor damage in the battle, it remained afterward.

The exact location of Ironhold and its originator city Gan is uncertain, but it lay south of Wolf's Hackle, within the land of Golthonor on the continent of Corondor.
