Template talk:Infobox character
Colors
Can someone with powers to edit this template to add a Color/s field, and also a link to Planeswalker's colorshift as suggested in here? --Tuamir (talk) 14:27, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Added a colors row. It is free text so you can write an essay in there if that is needed to explain the color shifts. - Yandere Sliver

Birth & Death
Would it be cleaner to list Birth and Death including date and location, rather than Birthplace and Lifetime? It would conform closer to Wikipedia's display style and give more comprehensive information. DayoftheNinja (talk) 22:05, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
The word "demographics"
Hello everybody.
I just noticed that the template for the personal data of individual characters reads "Demographics". As far as I know, "Demographics" is about groups of people, not personal data of a single person. Even if you google "demographics of individuals", you get information about how many individuals are in a given region, and statistics and averages about that group of individuals.
May I humbly suggest that a bot replaces the word "demographics" with something else, e.g. "personal data"? I understand the appeal of using a single word or a cool-sounding word, but if the chosen word means something else, well, maybe it would be better to use two correct words instead of a single but wrong one. Do you see my point?
Nevertheless, I know this is secondary. Magic Fandom is about "Magic the Gathering", not an English dictionary. Trust me, I write this just because I would like to further improve this wiki... and, I have to admit, I am a bit of a perfectionist. ---Abacos (talk) 08:02, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Maybe Biographic, or Biography? --Hunterofsalvation (talk) 10:00, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia calls it "Personal details", but "Details", "Description", or "Biography" would probably do fine. RudleyDudley (talk) 10:04, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Details it is, then. --Hunterofsalvation (talk) 10:13, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the time to read me, and thank you for your kind replies. ---Abacos (talk) 18:33, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, just wanted to chime in. Demographics indeed refers to a group of people but they can also be shorthand Demographic data as in what are this subjects demographics? As someone who works in this field it always struc me as natural to use it here, but I can see how this is confusing so I am however perfectly fine with changing it. I have seen Bio used from time to time. - Yandere-sliver (talk) 10:49, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
More fields and less Nicol Bolas in mind?
I gather one can add a number of fields to represent different characters in more details. Some suggestions would be: race, partners/bonds, iconic weapons/powers, deeds and events participated in. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by UrusSh (talk • contribs) 19:40, 9 August 2023 (UTC).
Relationships
How much like a Wikipedia infobox should this be? We now have a couple of established relationships that matter to the lore — Ral Zarek and Tomik Vrona are married, Oko is Kellan's father — but no place in the infobox to include that sort of information. Is this something that should be included? (Yep, I know there have been relationships in the lore prior to this but this is the first time a relationship has been a main story arc in the cards.) -- RivalRowan (talk) 20:35, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'd say yes to relationships. It's useful demographic info to have at the top. As for Wikipedia-izing, for a long time I've wanted to move to a birth/death system instead of using lifetime, since it would both be more standardized and should let us calculate ages automatically like Wikipedia does. RudleyDudley (talk) 05:31, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- I can back this change; it makes sense to me. How many characters have defined birth/death dates though? The calendar system in Magic isn't exactly the greatest. -- RivalRowan (talk) 05:47, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
