I think this article should be moved to "Battle for Zendikar (event)", rather than sitting at "The Battle for Zendikar", per the Wikipedia convention on article titles. I'm not sure if "(event)" is the right word though, as it may be confused for the release events surrounding the set. -- RivalRowan (talk) 22:16, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- There is a grammatical issue as well, but it might not solve the problem: most historical records for conflicts are dubbed "battle of [location]", not "for". It's true in a narrative, but referring as an in-universe event it may be more accurate to use that Wiki naming policy. That said, it may only garner more confusion.
Additionally, it could be reframed in another context, as while it's very much a battle, it stems from the Eldrazi breaching containment, which means that having "Eldrazi" or "breakout" or something to that effect in the title would clarify. Most that I could think of make them sound like SCP pages though. Shield (talk) 01:31, 2 July 2025 (UTC)- While most battles indeed use "of", the use of "for" can occur when you're specifying that the place name is not just where the battle takes place, but is the very objective that is being fought over. This particular one uses "for". As for the use of "(event)", I always found that to be a far more awkward naming contention than the use of "the". While it's fine that the policy asks to use articles without "the" in general, in the case of disambiguation, the use of "the" is a nice way to distinguish between two pages of the same name.--Varghedin (talk) 07:03, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with "for" being used here, as that definitely seems to be the proper name for the event, but I also agree with dropping the "The" and adding "(event)". I don't love how it makes the title look either, but it's much more straightforward than expecting a reader to tell the difference between a page with or without a definite article at the start.
