Oyster Bay is a large seaport in North Aerona.
Description
Oyster Bay lies on the coast of Northern Aerona, west of the Whispering Woods, south of the Rip and Icehaven, and north of Hurloon. It lies on the shore of the Sea of Fire, across the bay from the island of Avenant, and enjoys the beautiful sunsets cast on the ocean waves. The city of Concord lies not very far away.[1]
The buildings and streets of Oyster Bay are carved into white chalk cliffs.[2]
History
In 4077, Gull and his sister Greensleeves took their army west from the Whispering Woods to Oyster Bay. There, Gull tasked his wife Lily and Captain Varrius to treat the wounded after the battle in Greensleeves' Grove, to recruit and reform the centurions of their army, and to replenish their provisions and their equipment. Then Gull and Greensleeves left with a few soldiers, heading south to Hurloon. While they were gone, Lily gave birth to her and Gull's second daughter, Sweet, in the city.[1]
In 4561, a summit was held at Oyster Bay to settle a dispute over the nearby Ice Rime Hills, which contained sacred sites of Keld. Keld and Benalia contested control over the region. The outcome of the summit is unknown.[2]
