Maro's Outlaws of Thunder Junction Teaser

Mark Rosewater gave his traditional teaser with the following hints.[1]

First off, here are some things you can expect:

  • A new batch of five related creature types — Outlaw batches Assassins, Mercenaries, Pirates, Rogues, and Warlocks.
  • A card capable of returning three different card types from the graveyard to the battlefield — One Last Job
  • A mechanic players have been asking us to do for many years gets made as the setting was the perfect place to finally do it — Saddle
  • Dual lands with a land subtype that has never been on dual lands before — Desert on the "crime Desert" cycle.
  • A new modal mechanic that introduces something different to think about — Spree
  • A card that can swap/exchange control of up to three different card types — Shifting Grift (creature, artifact, and enchantment)
  • A new creature token that has an ability no creature token has ever had before — {R} 1/1 Mercenary creature with "{T}: Target creature you control gets +1/+0 until end of turn. Activate only as a sorcery."
  • A typal card for Skeletons and ZombiesGisa, the Hellraiser
  • Creature tokens in the set: (some might have abilities) 1/1 white Sheep, 1/1 blue Bird, 1/1 black Vampire Rogue, 1/1 red Mercenary, 2/1 green Varmint, 2/2 white Ox, 2/2 white Spirit, 2/2 blue and black Zombie, 3/1 red Dinosaur, 3/3 white Angel, 3/3 green Elk, 4/4 red Scorpion Dragon, X/X green Elemental, */* Blue Ox — See Tokens

Gavin's Outlaws of Thunder Junction Teaser

Gavin Verhey released a teaser with the following hints about the new cards in the Commander decks[3]:

  1. There is a new card that creates Sand Warrior tokens — Sand Scout
  2. There is a two-drop creature that taps for two mana, with a restriction — Thieving Varmint (only to cast spells you don't own)
  3. There is a new card with stormElemental Eruption
  4. There is a card that cares specifically about Command TowerTower Winder (tutors Command Tower to your hand)
  5. There is a card that is a sly reference to a blue rare from Odyssey blockSmirking Spelljacker (Spelljack)
  6. There is a card that does something for "each time you've cast your commander from the command zone this game" — Thunderclap Drake
  7. There is a card named Rumbleweed — 8/8 Plant Elemental for {10}{G}
  8. There is an 8-mana black board sweeper — Heartless Conscription
  9. There is a new creaturelandCactus Preserve

Spirit (Ghost) Riders in the Sky Often covered Country song, written by Stan Jones.
