Magic Unpainted Miniatures
Magic Unpainted Miniatures is a series of Magic miniatures released by WizKids. The miniatures form part of the WizKids Deep Cuts miniatures line and are meant for use with D&D / Magic: The Gathering-themed rulebooks.
Description
Magic Unpainted Miniatures packs come with highly-detailed figures that are pre-primed. These miniatures feature notable characters from Magic: The Gathering cards and include deep cuts to make painting them easier. They come in clear packaging displays, and little or no assembly is required.
History
The inaugural wave was released on December 2, 2020.[1][2]
A Kaldheim-themed-second wave was released at the end of May, 2021. A Strixhaven: School of Mages series was released on July 28, 2021, as part of Wave 15. An Innistrad: Midnight Hunt series was released in December, 2021. With the latter release, WizKids made a change to how their Magic: The Gathering Unpainted Miniatures launches are referenced. The Magic: The Gathering UPM line was originally launched as a part of UPM Wave 13. This posed some confusion since there were no MTG SKU (stock keeping unit)-numbers for Waves 1 through 12. Wave 5 followed in April, 2022, focussed on Kamigawa but also including the New Phyrexian Jin-Gitaxias.
