"Banish to Another Universe" tag

Hello! I feel that the "Banish to Another Universe" tag, used on pages such as this one, is unnecessarily large and wordy. Now that the wiki is no longer part of Fandom, I would prefer that we move away from tags with flavor text like this one. It feels cheap and tacky. This particular tag could be shortened to one line. Please let me know your thoughts. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by OrdinaryOtter (talkcontribs) 07:17, 11 May 2025.

Update: I have updated the template, making it shorter and removing the unncessary flavor text. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by OrdinaryOtter (talkcontribs) 04:18, 19 May 2025.

I'd recommend you join the discussion at MTG Wiki talk:Interface WikiProject/Flavored boilerplates or on the page's talk page before making changes. I'm not sure I see the connection to Fandom, though, since these header templates were added after the move. Happy to hear your thoughts on either of those pages, though. Watchlist email notifications

I'm used to using email notification to stay up to date to pages on my watchlist rather than manually checking it; other wiki systems tend to support this but I don't see an option to use them in my settings. Am I just not finding the right place to get at the setting for this, or if not, is there any plan to support it? Even this page, for instance, I am guessing I will miss if there are any replies to me until I remember to check again... - jerodast (talk) 09:22, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

Where to redirect Tribal

Tribal currently redirects to Kindred, not Typal. When it was the name of an actual card type, it made sense for the article to be at Tribal, much like how Theros etc. is the set rather than the plane—we prioritize terms in the game itself over slang and flavor. But now, I wonder if we should redirect to Typal instead. See my recent edit on Theros, for example. Typal is, in effect, the broader term, since kindred enables typal synergy, but typal play quite frequently happens without kindred.

I haven't checked all the other incoming links, but at a glance, most are probably about typal rather than kindred. Thoughts? --BlackDiamondDragon (talk) 03:04, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

I think the current redirect (and hatnote on Kindred) are correct. If articles are linking to Tribal/Kindred when the context suggests that they intend to link to the Typal concept, those articles should have their links changed. Corveroth (talk) 05:10, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
I agree with Corv. It looks like a lot of those remaining articles were not correctly updated when we switched from using just "tribal" to typal/Kindred and a few instances of "tribal" (typal) got left behind. -- RivalRowan (talk) 05:35, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
I would be in favor of making Tribal a disambiguation page that links to both Kindred and Typal. Even though kindred is an official game term, typal is way more ubiquitous within the game; imo these considerations balance each other out to a "no primary topic, use a disambiguation page" scenario. --Inktog (talk) 15:50, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
