Dromar's Cavern is the tomb of the original Vodalians of the Old Voda Sea, and the prison of the primeval dragon Dromar for millennia.
History
Fall of the Primevals
During the Fall of the Primevals, the blue primeval, Crosis, was captured by the blue Numena Lowallyn, by luring the dragon to a massive hoard of treasure, thus satisfying his greed and robbing hi of any will to conquer. By doing so, he received Dromar's powers. The cavern eventually became used as an elaborate tomb for the merfolk of Vodalia, who enchanted undead guards to watch over the entrance and stop any would-be intruders or tomb robbers. Dromar himself was the ultimate guardian of his prison, as any would-be thief stealing a piece of the slumbering dragon's trove immediately suffered his wrath.[1]
Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria
In 4205, during the Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria, the red primeval, Rhammidarigaaz, the green Rith, and the white Treva with the Dragon Nations in tow entered Dromar's Cavern. Immediately beset by the undead Vodalian guards, many dragons perished while swimming toward their goal. Reaching Dromar's cave, Rith plucked a jade from his horde, which awoke Dromar and his ire. Rith, unphased, proceeded to crush the gem and then blast the ceiling of the cage, causing large stones to collapse onto the trove, smashing and burying it. This was the only way for the primevlas to have Dromar join them, as he now had new desire other than protecting his destroyed treasure.[1]
