Citanul was the capital of Argoth, an island off the mainland of Terisiare on Dominaria.
Description
The city of Citanul was built in harmony with nature, surrounded by lush forests. It was the location of the Court of Titania.[1][2]. The city was home to many elves [3], human druids and centaurs.
History
In Citanul lived an order of druids, composed of descendants of the surviving Thran who had escaped the war and had disavowed technology. Titania herself also resided in the city.
Even before the Discovery of Argoth, the secretive druids of Citanul were present on the mainland Terisiare, and some even joined the Third Path. Although they likely did not divulge the location of their island with their compatriots, their interest in the Third Path's magical studies was significant enough to share their philosophy and worship of Gaea with other spellcasters of the Union.[4]
When Harbin crashed his thopter on Argoth, Gwenna sent word to Citanul and waited while she watched the intruder, but the Citanul Elder did not reach the site of trespass in time before Harbin had escaped the island.[4]
After the Invasion of Argoth, Harbin was summoned to the Court of Titania. He spoke to the queen of Citanul, who ordered him to stop hostilities on the island. Harbin offered an alliance between Urza's forces and those of Citanul to face off against their common enemy Mishra. Titania refused because Urza's armies despoiled the land equally as much as Mishra did. Harbin was allowed to leave Citanul unharmed.[4]
Citanul was obliterated along with the rest of Argoth in the last battle of the Brothers' War, when Urza activated the Golgothian Sylex and caused the Sylex Blast.[4]
Although the city itself was destroyed, several of the Citanul Druids were on the mainland when this occurred. Their order thus survived for some time afterward. Driven mad by the fall of Argoth, the Citanul Druids grew violent, finding peace only in battle.[5][6]
Over 3000 years later, druids across the world still studied the philosophy of Citanul. Such druids could be seen in Tirras spreading words of prophecy.[7]

Trivia
- "Citanul," the city of druids driven mad by the fall of Argoth, is the word "lunatic" spelled backward.[6]
