Cardboard Crack

Cardboard Crack is a Magic: The Gathering webcomic in the style of a syndicated newspaper daily. It is written and drawn by the anonymous Magic Addict. The comics are regularly reposted to Reddit.
Description

Cardboard Crack makes fun of Magic memes, sets and developments, describing and picturing a setting where Magic is the defining characteristic and often spills over into the real word. The self-contained panels (often only three or four) and simple line drawing style makes the comic easily shareable. The characters are non-personalized. The tone at times can be mildly criticizing or predictive, as seen in their often quoted Universes Beyond comic from February 2021.
History
Cardboard Crack was started in March 2013.[1]
In 2012, Magic Addict collated many of the most popular comics into a book and self-published. Further books would be released in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
After five years of constant output, the pressures of work and family forced Magic Addict to realize that the comic needed to take a back seat.[2] They unofficially put the project on hiatus in June before releasing a formal statement on September 19, 2017.
The comic would remain inactive for almost three years before Magic Addict returned during the COVID-19 pandemic.[3] Following their return to the comic, Magic Addict began collating the new set of comics into their tenth book that was published in 2022.
After 18 months of publishing, Magic Addict decided to again focus on work and family commitments. The comic output took another hiatus from January 2024[4] and resumed in January 2025.[5]
