Tolarian Community College is a YouTube channel maintained by its host "The Professor," a character played by Brian Lewis.
Description
The channel originally focused on Magic: The Gathering related accessory reviews like card sleeves, deck boxes, or playmats. However, as the market is small and new products are few and far between, this aspect of the channel has diminished. Instead, the channel evaluates the financial value of product offerings from Wizards of the Coast, including booster boxes, fat packs, event decks, and Secret Lair drops using secondary market prices. The channel regularly features commentary on the state of Magic: The Gathering, tournaments, and product ranges. Deck lists for various formats including Commander, Pauper, Standard, Modern and Legacy are also discussed.
In 2023, the channel launched a sub-series named "Shuffle Up & Play" which brings Magic community members of various stripes together to play games, often featuring formats or decks they aren't familiar with.
In 2024, Tolarian Community College reached 1,000,000 subscribers. By that time, Lewis employed four editors.[1]
