Description

The event cards feature playtest stickers, looking and functioning like the test cards of the Mystery Booster set. Being playtest stickers, the cards have no art, artist credits, or Collector number, and are marked with internal card codes. A total of 62 new cards were designed for this event with a focus on Commander gameplay elements. The cards, with the exception of the two prize cards, were also used for the Unknown Event at Gen Con Indiana.

Enolc, Perfect Clone	RC01	Legendary Creature — Shapeshifter If Enolc is one of two partner commanders, it's a copy of your other commander except it retains its name. (Including mana cost.) If Enolc isn't a commander, you may cast it as though it was a copy of any of your commanders. Partner (You can have two commanders if both have partner.)	"Enolc" is "clone" backwards.
Mysterious Confluence	RC05	Instant Choose a card at random from among Righteous Confluence, Mystic Confluence, Wretched Confluence, Fiery Confluence, Verdant Confluence, Brokers Confluence, Cabaretti Confluence, Maestros Confluence, Obscura Confluence, and Riveteers Confluence. Create a copy of that card. You may cast the copy without paying its mana cost. (Roll a D10 to determine the random card.).
Your Favorite Character	RC05	Legendary Creature — Shapeshifter As the game begins, if Your Favorite Character is your commander, or as Your Favorite Character enters the battlefield if it's not your commander, name a character from the Magic storyline. Choose up to three colors, two creature types and then two keywords from among vigilance, flying, haste, trample, and menace. Your Favorite Character has the chosen name types, colors, and keywords. 4/4	Designed to allow players the option of their favorite characters as a commander.
Fioran Reformist	RW03	Creature — Human Advisor When ~ enters the battlefield, if a player is the monarch, get rid of the monarchy. Democracy is in effect until ~ leaves the battlefield. (At the beginning of each player's end step, if they control more creatures than each other player, they draw a card. Player's can't become the monarch.) 3/3	Designed to counter the advantage caused by being the Monarch in a 1v1 game.
Form of the Stax Player	RW05	Enchantment At the beginning of your upkeep, create a token that's a copy of one of the following: Aven Mindcensor, Drannith Magistrate, Ghostly Prison, Hushbringer, Smokestack, or Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. (There are six of them, so one easy way to select is to roll a D6.) When ~ leaves the battlefield, sacrifice each token created with it.	A play on Form of the Dragon using the Prison deck archetype. Named for the Vintage Stax deck. The card was intended to create a token at random, hence the reminder text, but was not printed with that exact wording.
Gather, the Townsfolk	UW02	Sorcery Spell commander (This card can be your commander. In Limited, it can partner like other monocolored legends.) Create two 1/1 white Human creature tokens. Fateful hour — If you have 5 or less life, create fice of those tokens instead.	Part of the "spell commander" cycle. References Gather the Townsfolk.
Taught by Serra	CW12	Enchantment — Aura Commander enchantment (This aura enchants a commander creature, and remains attached to the creature as it moves between any face-up zones. You can cast it on a Commander in your command zone.) When you cast Taught by Vito, draw a card. Enchanted creature has flying and vigilance.	Part of the "Commander enchantment" cycle. Tax Hounds	UW03	Sorcery Create X 1/1 white Dog creature tokens, where X is your highest commander tax among your commanders. (For example, if you've cast your one commander from your command zone twice, create four tokens.)	Part of the commander tax cycle.
Theopholos, Order Acolyte	RW04	Creature — Human Advisor Mono eminence — As the game begins, if Theopholos is your commander and your deck's color identity is mono-white, your starting life total is increased by 10. Whenever Theopholos attacks, if your life total is greater than your starting life total, creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn. Try-My-Deck Elemental	RW04	Creature — Elemental Flying Commander spells you cast have demonstrate. (When you cast a commander spell, you may copy it. If you do, choose an opponent to also copy it. The copies become tokens.) The "legend rule" doesn't apply to commanders you control. 4/3
White Rhystic Study	RW03	Enchantment Whenever an opponent casts a spell, you may draw a card unless that player pays .	A colorshifted Rhystic Study.
Barce, Friend Finder	MU03	Legendary Creature — Human Wizard You may play Barce and any other legend with one color identity or less as you commanders as though they each had partner. Whenever another legendary creature you control dies, you may put it into your command zone. It replaces one of your commanders. Prize Card for the Unknown event at MagicCon Barcelona, July 29th, 2023. 2/3	Prize card for the Saturday event.
Clear, the Mind	UU11	Sorcery Spell commander (This card can be your commander. In Limited, it can partner like other monocolored legends.) Target player shuffles their graveyard into their library. Draw a card.	Part of the "spell commander" cycle. References Clear the Mind, a glacially slow win condition in the Ravnica Allegiance draft format.
Dockbreacher	RU03	Creature — Merfolk Pirate Flash If an opponent would create a treasure token beyond the first one they create each turn, instead you draw a card. 2/3	A combination of Dockside Extortionist and Hullbreacher.
Ensoul Ring	UU02	Enchantment — Aura Enchant nonland permanent. Enchanted permanent is a Sol Ring. (It's no longer anything else.)	Combines Ensoul Artifact with Sol Ring.
Lorthos, Tentacled Terror	RU08	Legendary Creature — Octopus Mono Eminence — At the game begnning, if Lorthos is your commander and your deck's color identity is mono-blue, your starting hand size becomes 8. (You draw 8 cards and your maximum hand size is 8.) Whenever Lorthos attacks, tap all permanents your opponent controls. Partner (You can have two commanders if both have partner.) 8/8	Part of the Mono eminence cycle. References Lorthos.
One Does Not	CU12	Enchantment — Aura Enchant creature Enchanted creature does not simply untap during its controller's untap step. Enchanted creature has nonbasic landwalk. (It can't simply be blocked as long as defending player controls a nonbasic land.)	References the meme of the same name. Ironically, the card allows the enchanted creature to simply walk into Mordor.
Ring Out	UU02	Instant Counter target noncreature spell. Whenever an opponent casts a spell named Sol Ring, if Ring Out is in your library, you may search you library for Ring Out, and cast it without paying its mana cost targeting that Sol Ring, then shuffle.	Designed as a hate piece against turn one Sol Rings, one of the most powerful spells in Magic, which is still legal in Commander.
Taught by Narset	CU12	Enchantment — Aura Commander enchantment (This aura enchants a commander creature, and remains attached to the creature as it moves between any face-up zones. You can cast it on a Commander in your command zone.) When you cast Taught by Narset, draw a card. Enchanted creature has prowess and ward .	Part of the "Commander enchantment" cycle. Tax Draw	UU14	Instant Draw cards equal to your highest commander tax among your commanders. (For example, if you've cast your one commander from your command zone twice, draw four cards.)	Part of the commander tax cycle.
Auntie Flint	RB03	Legendary Creature — Goblin Mono Eminence — If Auntie Flint is on the battlefield or in the command zone and your deck's color identity is mono-black, creatures you control get +1/+0. Whenever Auntie Flint attacks, another target creature gains fear until end of turn. Partner (You can have two commanders if both have partner.) 2/2	Auntie Flint is a flavor text reference in Boggart Loggers and Spiderwig Boggart.
Delve too Deep	UB11	Sorcery Delve (Each card you exile from your graveyard while casting this spell pays for .) Target creatures gets -X/-X until end of turn. If X was 7 or greater, create a 7/7 black and red Demon creature token.	References the Delve mechanic and the Fellowship's journey through the Mines of Moria.
Ransack, the Lab	UB16	Sorcery Spell commander (This card can be your commander. In Limited, it can partner like other monocolored legends.) Look at the top three cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand and the rest into your graveyard.	Part of the "spell commander" cycle. References Ransack the Lab.
Shedding Snake	CB05	Creature — Snake Menace When Shedding Snake enters the battlefield, you may pay 2 life. If you do, the commander tax on each of your commanders is reduced back to zero. 6/5	First card to alter the commander tax of a commander.
Soul Drainer	UB06	Creature — Giant Wizard Deathtouch When Soul Drainer enters the battlefield, destroy target commander an opponent controls. Remove all commander damage that commander dealt to you. (You don't gain life, just treat it as though your commander damage from that commander is zero.) 4/5	First card to refer to commander damage.
Taught by Vito	CB13	Enchantment — Aura Commander enchantment (This aura enchants a commander creature, and remains attached to the creature as it moves between any face-up zones. You can cast it on a Commander in your command zone.) When you cast Taught by Vito, draw a card. Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and has lifelink.	Part of the "Commander enchantment" cycle. Tax Sweeper	UU14	Sorcery Creatures get -X/-X until end of turn, where X is your highest commander tax among your commanders. (For example, if you've cast your one commander from your command zone twice, creatures get -4/-4 until end of turn.)	Part of the commander tax cycle.
Lava, Axe	UR15	Sorcery Spell commander (This card can be your commander. In Limited, it can partner like other monocolored legends.) Lava, Axe deals 5 damage to target player or planeswalker.	Part of the "spell commander" cycle. References Lava Axe.
Math is for Blockers	RR16	Sorcery Damage can't be prevented this turn. Creatures you control have double strike, trample, and must attack if able until end of turn.	Popular saying amongst Magic content creators, especially those that favor draft, when deciding to attack with all their creatures.
My Deck is About a Seven	CR14	Instant Choose a number between 6 and 8. My Deck is About a Seven deals that much damage to target creature.	A play on the fact that Commander players are poor at evaluating deck power level and would just choose 7.
Mzed, Mercenary Leader	RR04	Legendary Creature — Human Mercenary Mono Eminence — If Mzed is on the battlefield or in your command zone and your deck's color identity is mono-red, Creatures you control have haste. At the beginning of your combat step, create a 1/1 red Mercenary creature token with "This creature can't block." Partner (You can have two commanders if both have partner.) 4/2	Part of the Mono eminence cycle. References the Ikorian hunter Mzed.
Taught by Bruse Tarl	CR14	Enchantment — Aura Commander enchantment (This aura enchants a commander creature, and remains attached to the creature as it moves between any face-up zones. You can cast it on a Commander in your command zone.) When you cast Taught by Bruse Tarl, draw a card. Enchanted creature has double strike and protection from Oxen. Tax Bolt	UR11	Instant Tax Bolt deals damage to any target equal to your highest commander tax among your commanders. (For example, if you've cast your one commander from your command zone twice, it deals 4 damage.)	Part of the commander tax cycle.
Triple Threat	RR13	Enchantment If an opponent would be dealt commander damage, they receive triple that amount of commander damage instead. (They don't actually take more damage, it just counts as triple the amount of commander damage.)
The Colossal Dreadmaw	RG06	Legendary Creature — Dinosaur Trample You may cast creature cards from your hand as though they were the card Colossal Dreadmaw. (They become Colossal Dreadmaws.) 6/6	References the Colossal Dreadmaw meme.
The Dilu Horse	RG03	Legendary Creature — Horse Horsemanship (This creature can't be blocked except by creatures with horsemanship.) Commanders you control have horsemanship. Partner (You can have two commanders if both have partner.) 2/2	A callback to Riding the Dilu Horse (Portal Three Kingdoms).
Lona, Tracker of the Known	RG02	Legendary Creature — Elf Ranger Spells you cast that have been printed in at least five different English language Magic releases cost , , , , or less to cast. Lona gets +1/+1 for each nonland permanent you control that has been printed in at least five different English language Magic releases. Prize Card for the Unknown event at MagicCon Barcelona, July 30th, 2023. 1/1	Prize card for the Sunday event.
Maître Tree	RG03	Creature — Tree Tempting offer—When Maître Tree enters the battlefield, create a token from the menu. Each opponent may also create a token from the menu. For each opponent who does, you create a token of the same type. Treasure Food 1/1 Squirrel 3/3 Beast 0/2	The card is a play on maître d'. The creature tokens are intended to be green but this is not written on the card itself.
Mr. Wiggles, Helpful Butterfly	RG03	Legendary Creature — Insect Mono Eminence — As the game begins, if Mr. Wiggles is your commander and your deck's color identity is monogreen, at the beginning of your first upkeep, search your library for a Forest card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle. Arvad of the Weatherlight	RZ06	Legendary Creature — Human Knight Rulebreaker — If Arvad of the Weatherlight is your Commander, you may include legendary permanents of any color in your deck regardless of color identity. Whenever Arvad deals combat damage to an opponent, you may put a legendary permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield. 3/4
Awoken Nephilim	RZ11	Legendary Creature — Nephilim During deck construction, name a Nephilim card originally printed in Guildpact. Awoken Nephilim has that card's color identity and is a copy of that card in all zones except it's also Legendary. Power Level Analyzer	UA05	Artifact Creature — Construct As Power Level Analyzer enters the battlefield, you and target opponent each secretly choose a number between 1 and 10, then reveal. Power Level Analyzer enters with a number of +1/+1 counters equal to the distance between the two numbers. If both players chose the same number, put seven +1/+1 counters on ~ instead. 0/0	Another reference to "power level 7".
Sagrada Familiar	UA03	Artifact Creature — Wall Reach, defender Commander spells you cast cost less to cast. Whenever you cast a commander spell, create X 1/1 Stained Glass artifact creature tokens that are all colors, where X is the number of colors of that commander. 0/5	Inspired by the Sagrada Família basilica in Barcelona, and the Familiar cycle in Planeshift.
Spice Rack	RA02	Artifact As Spice Rack enters the battlefield, choose an opponent. The chosen player's maximum Commander size is one. (They can only have one commander in their command zone. If they ever have more than one, they must put any excess commanders into their graveyard.) Cycling	Designed in honor of Magic content creator Spice8Rack, who attended the event.
Toe-Breaking Helmet	CA11	Artifact — Equipment Equipped creature gets +1/+1. , , Sacrifice Toe-Breaking Helmet: Put two -1/-1 counters on target creature. Activate only as a sorcery. Equip	References the scene and helmet in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers film during which Viggo Mortensen broke two toes.
Your Mana Rock	CA02	Artifact Your Mana Rock enters the battlefield tapped. During deckbuilding, write two different colors on Your Mana Rock. : Add one mana of a color written on Your Mana Rock.	Resembles Cryptic Spires on an artifact.
Mana Conference	UL01	Land When Mana Conference enters the battlefield, each player secretly chooses a basic land type, then those choices are revealed. Mana Conference gains each basic land type that received at leas one vote. (Basic land types are Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest.)	References Mana Confluence.
