Fourth Edition is a Core Set that was released in 1995. Fifty-one cards were removed from the Revised Edition and 122 cards from previous expansions (Legends and The Dark) were added.
Cards were available from May 3, 1995 well past the end of the run in April 1997.
The print run is estimated at 500 million cards.
Card Changes
- A copyright notice '©' now appears on the bottom.
- This is the first set to be released using the new international tap symbol (a 135 degree turned arrow) to replace the 45 degree tilted 'T' that was used previously.
Cycles
- Circles of protection: Circle of Protection: White, Circle of Protection: Blue, Circle of Protection: Black, Circle of Protection: Red and Circle of Protection: Green are each common white enchantments with the ability to prevent the next damage from a source of a color for .
- Life Gaining Artifacts: Crystal Rod, Iron Star, Ivory Cup, Throne of Bone and Wooden Sphere

Misprints
- Gaea's Liege — refers to itself as Leige once in the text box.
- Segovian Leviathan — The flavor text lists Job 40:25, there is no Job 40:25. It was corrected in 5th Edition to read Job 41:1.
