Cycles
- Mono-colored legends mega cycle: A cycle split between Lorwyn and Morningtide, legendary mono-colored cards for the main protagonists of the Lorwyn and Morningtide novels — Ashling the Pilgrim and Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile from Lorwyn were joined by Rhys the Exiled, Vendilion Clique and Maralen of the Mornsong in Morningtide.
- Rare changelings mega cycle: Each of these rare creatures, one for each color, has the shapeshifter creature type and the changeling ability. Mirror Entity, Shapesharer, and Cairn Wanderer were printed in Lorwyn, while Morningtide finished off the cycle with Taurean Mauler and Chameleon Colossus.
- Tribal lands mega cycle: Rounding out the "tribal land" cycle from Lorwyn, Morningtide introduced three lands with abilities different from the lands in the previous set but which share their "tribal untap" ability — Murmuring Bosk (treefolk), Primal Beyond (elementals), and Rustic Clachan (kithkin).
