Xavis is an immortal wizard on an unnamed world.
History
Xavis fought another wizard for 10 million years, destroying the entire landscape around them. One day, a lone artifact creature approached Xavis's castle, delivering a message. The message told Xavis that his opponent yielded. Curious, Xavis rode to his opponent's crumbling castle, where the withered old man revealed to Xavis that he had created Xavis himself, and the almost-endless battle had been intended to turn him into the perfect spellcaster to fight his creator's true enemy. After his creator died, Xavis rode off across the charred but slowly recovering plain, while his true enemy massed in the far distance.[1]

Note on the Timeline
The story notes that the two wizards have fought for "a thousand times ten thousand years", which is 10 million years. If this is true, that would put the start of their battle far beyond anything on the timeline (assuming the story happens in Modern Times). However, given that the unnamed opponent created Xavis, he may have been given false memories. It is also possible that the battle occurred on a pocket plane where time flows differently than the rest of the Multiverse.
