The city of Tomakul was the largest settlement of the Fallaji Empire, situated in the heart of the Great Desert on Terisiare during the Time of Legends and the Brothers' War. It was the capital of the tribe of the same name.

Description

Tomakul was one of the main cities of the Fallaji Empire. Considered by outsiders to be the most civilized Fallaji settlement, it also served as the de facto capital of the empire for certain periods. Tomakul was recognized by foreigners for its golden onion-domed palaces. Much trade ran to and from the city, and merchants were abundant in the commons. The tribe of Fallaji that founded it, also known as the Tomakul, held much sway over the other tribes via their accumulated prestige.

After uniting the Fallaji tribes under the boy Qadir of the Suwwardi, Mishra and Hajar entered Tomakul. The city was as rotten as an old fruit, waiting for the slightest tap to split it apart. In many ways, the city dwellers were more like Yotians than Fallaji, preoccupied with wealth, money, and caravans. As long as the Qadir did not interfere with their daily lives, they were quite content to open their gates to him. Mishra and Hajar found the city to be beautiful and corrupt, wondrous and diseased. Here, trade routes from Sarinth to Kroog converged with those from the eastern coastal nations to Terisia City farther west. The city was a brightly colored cavalcade of different peoples: dwarves from Sardia, holy men of distant Gix, and minotaur mariners from some far-off islands. There were warriors in zebra-hide capes from Zegon and furred trades from the Yumok nation in the shadow of its great glacier, Ronom. Yotian merchants trod the city streets as well, visibly nervous among the celebratory Fallaji.
