Tim Willoughby
Tim Willoughby was a writer for Wizards of the Coast from 2008 until 2012 and he also did Magic coverage, owned a local game store and played competitively.[1]
Tim was a member of the Commander Advisory Group from August 2022 until its dissolution in September 2024.[2] He was invited to be a founding member of the Commander Format Panel and is a current active member.[1]
Tim was an early adopter of EDH, playing with Sheldon Menery and other judges as early as 2005 in the after-hours of professional Magic events. His essay on why each card is banned is commonly regarded as the best of its kind and was adapted for inclusion on the RC website.[2]
Gavin Verhey designed the test card The Clever Magician in honor of Tim. It was first printed for the Unknown Event at MagicCon Amsterdam 2024.
