To facilitate “tournament Pioneer” on MTG Arena, the full Khans of Tarkir set will be released on December 12, 2023, followed by Pioneer Masters at the end of 2024.
Khans of Tarkir was originally released on September 26, 2014, as the first large expansion in the Tarkir block. It featured the Tarkir plane as an embattled world of ambitious warlords and powerful clans that waged eternal war for supremacy over their plane in a conflict that spanned a thousand years. The plane was previously inhabited by dragons. The clans were represented through enemy wedge colors and aspects as follows:
