Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate is the second Magic: The Gathering Commander set that is designed to be drafted. It is also a Dungeons & Dragons crossover set, and will be released on June 10, 2022. Building on the Commander-first gameplay of 2020's Commander Legends, Battle for Baldur's Gate brings in iconic characters, new mechanics, and flavorful spells from D&D, and Commander Legends-style foil-etched legendary creatures. The set takes place in the Forgotten Realms, and focuses on the city of Baldur's Gate.

Adventure, D20 dice rolling, Goad, Myriad and Party are returning mechanics. Flavor words also make a comeback. The set features an Undercity Dungeon Card. The card is activated by the Initiative mechanic to Venture into Undercity. Monocolored Legendary creatures in the set have the ability to Choose a Background.
