There's a bit of research to be done to get the exact details, but it appears Nationals started as a joint competition before being split off into separate Serbian, Croatian Nationals etc. My thought it that it would be best to handle these competitions in one page similar to how I did the British National Championships page. Is calling that page the Yugoslavian Nationals the best option? Well, that's what I'm starting with. -- Beatsandskies (talk) 23:14, 21 December 2025 (UTC)

I'm not well versed on current Slavic politics but I do know that most people in the region would not be happy with a "Yugoslavian Nationals" article unless it was historically appropriate. It would need to be individual country articles. -- RivalRowan (talk) 23:31, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
I guess that's a fair point. In any case, it looks like Croatia had Nationals since 1997 which is earlier than any of the other successor nations. So in terms of the Magic competition it might just be Serbia and Montenegro which had a joint competition, as they were politically the same country at that point. They competed under that name in 2004 from my sources, so I might change the article name to that. -- Beatsandskies (talk) 23:54, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
I've gone for Serbian National Championships for the article name. The timeline is actually pretty clear: Nationals were held 2000-2003 as Yugoslavia, 2004-2006 as Serbia and Montenegro, then 2007 onwards as Serbia. It doesn't appear that Montenegro had formal nationals after de-federalisation in 2006. --Beatsandskies (talk) 01:14, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
