FYI this conversation started in Talk:Skinned card. User:RivalRowan pointed here: "An overlay is what we call the cards that you might think of as reskins." That plus the Blogatog ask seems like enough evidence of an official term, unless there's other sources that blatantly contradict it? --Inktog (talk) 17:17, 27 June 2025 (UTC)

Interesting. In that light, I think that since "reskins" are easily the most common topic, they ought to be the primary topic at Overlay. Point a hatnote over to Overlay (face-down), and maybe a second toward Rathi Overlay? Corveroth (talk) 17:56, 27 June 2025 (UTC)

Hunter, would you be okay with renaming Skinned card → Overlay (card treatment), and leaving Overlay as the disambiguation page? I can definitely see the argument that reskins aren't the primary topic because the term isn't widely used. --Inktog (talk) 15:16, 29 June 2025 (UTC)

That would be awkward to link to. I think I have to conceit this one (it always takes some time for me). I checked the overlay card text, and it seems that Wizards are currently referring to it as helper cards. I could live with:

After moving everything I was just informed that ">" has to be read as "arrow", not as "greater than", so I moved stuff in the wrong direction. The only thing I am not so sure about is the Overlay (helper card) thing. But apart from that I am fine with these names. - Yandere-sliver (talk) 18:12, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
