Overlay card
An overlay card is a card that may be used on face-down cards to remind players of their power and toughness. Face-down cards are generally colorless 2/2 creatures with a creature type.
Morph
Khans of Tarkir introduced the overlay card for morphed cards. It was available in booster packs an extra card with an advertisement on the back side.[1][2] It was later reprinted in Dragons of Tarkir and Commander 2019.
An alternate art for the morph overlay came with Masters 25.[3]
Manifest
Fate Reforged added the overlay card for manifested cards.[4] It was later reprinted in Commander 2018 and Commander 2019.
Cyberman
The Universes Beyond set Doctor Who added the Cyberman overlay card, to indicate that a creature returned from the graveyard is now a colorless 2/2 Cyberman artifact creature.
A Mysterious Creature
Two mechanics in Murders at Karlov Manor—Cloak and Disguise—share an overlay card, to indicate that a face-down creature is a colorless, subtype-less 2/2 creature with ward .[5]
