The article body mentions Gerardo "played in 35 Pro Tour events between 1997 Pro Tour Los Angeles and the 2010 World Championships, the most of any Mexican player." but Template:PTsPlayed only shows 34 PTs. Obviously both numbers should match but without a reference source for either, I can't see a way to resolve the discrepancy. -- RivalRowan (talk) 04:16, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- I generally am using Gathering Stats to point me towards relevant information when I’m doing Player/Event stuff and that shows 35: https://www.gatheringstats.com/player/gerardo-godinez-estrada Outside searching up lists for every single event it’s indicated someone has attended what’s the solution? One is rephrasing that particular sentence to remove the number, though given it is is the high number which made this something I thought was worthwhile to mention… Beatsandskies (talk) 05:14, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- I was just looking for where the PT numbers came from so we could correct the one that was wrong. In this case, if Gathering Stats is saying 35 that's good enough. We just need to update Template:PTsPlayed to match. -- RivalRowan (talk) 22:38, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
Article feedback
(Originally posted as a follow up question in PTs played.) Also, I was actually going to ask for some feedback about this page in the discord but since there's a talk page now... I went a bit further with this new page than I usually would. Normally I just focus on filling the bio detail in the infobox and results in the achievements section plus a brief sentence or two introduction. Leaving writing all the quality prose (hopefully!) up to others. So is how I've structured things OK? With one paragraph of a basic overview (mentioning both a big Magic and Poker achievement) and one about his passing as the intro, and then a new section to elaborate on his MTG history a bit more. I did probably get a bit carried away with the Invitational sub-section, but hey: if people are inspired to flesh out information about other events then that'll balance things out! But I certainly won't be offended if anyone was to take what I've done so far and dramatically improve it. ;) -- Beatsandskies (talk) 06:08, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
