Strother, Borg, and Elam were a trio of lazy, hungry and smelly soldiers who lived on Shiv on the plane of Dominaria around 4100 AR. Strother was a dwarf, Borg was an orc, and Elam was a goblin.

History

Cometia

Somewhere in Shiv, there was an oasis called Cometia, located in a deep meteor crater. The edges of the crater were so high the elves and druids living inside the oasis had no idea about what lay beyond it, until the tiny twig dragon called Snap found a little crack and saw the outside world. Strother, Borg, and Elam also found the crack, as well as a serpent generator made by Dirk the Dastardly. They flooded Cometia with snakes, killing many of its defenders, until Snap went into the crack and then into the generator, destroying it and saving Cometia. As a result of their loss, Strother, Borg, and Elam were reassigned to the zombie slough.[1]

The Lord of the Pit

Now working for the orcish noble, Lord Ugliness at the front lines against an advancing zombie army, Strother, Borg, and Elam went looking for a new serpent generator. Their commander tried to get rid of them by ordering them to kill more of the opposing zombie army, but just then they found the Serpent Generator made by Mutter Makree. Immediately afterward, a Lord of the Pit showed up and demanded tribute. The trio fed snakes to the demon, and in return they got it to collect zombie scalps for them. They became so successful that the orc noble Lord Ugliness himself came to congratulate them for their deeds. But the timing was poor for the warlord, as the Lord of the Pit returned from battle just then and ate the warlord and his sergeant as his tribute. Remembering that the best taste in the world was a snake generator, the demon then also ate the generator. The Lord of the Pit went on to threaten to eat the trio as well, but they redirected the demon to the banquet feast that would be held the next day, thinking the lord would be kept busy eating the food and the guests there, and fled the scene.[2]
