Plane | Terisiare, Dominaria |
The safe havens were a series of about 50 hidden caves and blind passages on Terisiare that looked identical from the inside. They were of unknown origin but could be used by certain wizards to travel quickly across the continent.
History
The safe havens were first seen during the Dark Age when the Rag Man used them to quickly bring Jodah from the coast of Terisiare to the Conclave of Mages. Jodah later became one of the few people who could activate them.[1]
Later, during the Ice Age, Jaya Ballard rescued Jodah from Lim-Dûl's keep Tresserhorn, and hid in a safe haven on the slope of a peak nearby. When Jodah collapsed, Jaya called for aid from Freyalise, who trigged the safe haven's magic, transporting them all to the coast of Terisiare. Jodah later used the safe havens actively during the war with Lim-Dûl.[2]
During the casting of the World Spell, Freyalise enlisted the aid of Jodah to use the safe havens as vents to disperse the effects of the spell. Jodah cast a spell to simultaneously activate all the safe havens at once, and great bouts of magical flame shot through them all, melting the ice and snow for five miles around them and setting fire to any settlements and wandering people and animals nearby.[2]
