Magic Present: Pride is a recurring event organized by Wizards of the Coast in the context of the American Pride Month. It celebrates the LGBTQ pride within the Magic: The Gathering community.

Description

The Magic Presents: Pride event is played in the Commander format. It adds the special rule that all eligible commanders are treated as though they have the partner ability. This allows players to add a commander to a deck they already have or use a never-before-seen combination of two commanders to helm a new deck.

Commanders that already have abilities like Partner won’t let players have more than two commanders at this event. The extra commander still counts toward the 100 cards in their deck.

History

Magic Presents: Pride was first organized in June 2024, and restricted to the USA and Canada only. Participants received a rainbow holographic foil print with art of Chandra Nalaar and her Embercat by Anh Nguyen.[1]

In June 2025, the event returned and was extended to Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guernsey, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Participants received a traditional foil promo featuring new artwork of Niko Aris by David Alvarez.[2][3]
