MTG Wiki is a wiki focused on coverage of Magic: the Gathering, a trading card game published by Wizards of the Coast. It launched on December 13, 2005. Originally, it was a feature of the community website MTG Salvation.
As of February 2025, MTG Wiki is hosted by Scryfall.
History
MTG Salvation launched a wiki project on December 13, 2005. When MTG Salvation was purchased by Curse in 2012, MTG Salvation Wiki became a part of Curse's Gamepedia wiki network. Twitch, a subsidiary of Amazon, purchased Curse in 2016.
On February 22, 2017, the editors of MTG Salvation Wiki chose to remove the word "Salvation" from the title of the wiki, as the wiki was no longer owned or hosted by MTG Salvation.
In 2018, Fandom purchased Gamepedia from Curse, and began to merge Gamepedia with their existing Wikia wiki network, which already hosted a Magic: the Gathering wiki with similar content. Administrators for the two wikis determined that the Gamepedia wiki was more complete, and the Wikia wiki was archived.[1] In November 2020, Fandom announced that MTG Wiki would migrate from mtg.gamepedia.com to mtg.fandom.com as a search engine optimization.[2] MTG Wiki was moved to the new domain early, on December 2, 2020.
In February 2025, MTG Wiki departed from the Fandom network and is now hosted by Scryfall.
