In 1997, 1998, and 1999, Wizards of the Coast GameCamp was offered at the Wizards of the Coast Game Center for players ages 10 and up. The sessions were held over one week, and campers were housed in dorms at the University of Washington. There were also several special workshops held for adults.
History
Each session had a theme game that it focused on, such as Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons, but the most popular was for Magic: The Gathering. Along with counselors, each session also featured special guests such as pro players and game designers like Richard Garfield and Mark Rosewater, who would give out player advice and presentations and make themselves available to give autographs.[1]
