David "Dave" Pettey, also credited as Dave Petty and "Hurricane Dave", is a former Magic playtester, designer and developer for Wizards of the Coast.

Dave worked only shortly for the company, between June 1994 and September 1995.[1][2] [3][4]

Biography

In the late 1980s, Dave was one of the playtesters from the University of Pennsylvania that Richard Garfield tagged to help get the Alpha card set (and game rules) ready for public consumption. Together with Skaff Elias, Chris Page and Jim Lin, he later formed a subset of the Alpha Playtesters referred to as the "East Coast Playtesters". Together, they designed the Ice Age and Alliances expansions.[5]
