The Collapse of Serra's Realm was an event that occurred on Serra's Realm in its last moments of existence.
Description
Urza returned to Serra's Realm in hopes of saving it from Phyrexia's grasp, but instead discovered the extent of the plane's corruption. Souring negotiations with the plane's new ruler Radiant required him to stage an exodus to save the remaining inhabitants. He rescued hundreds personally this way and returned with the newly-built Skyship Weatherlight for hundreds more Serran refugees. Radiant attempted to prevent this and attacked the skyship with her angels. The Shivan Dragon Gherridarigaaz was killed saving Urza's life from Radiant' magical attack, and the ship's crew, including Barrin, Jhoira, Karn, Terd and Diago Deerv staved off the attackers while collecting magical torches to charge the ship's power sources. Rhammidarigaaz rode through the skies, while the Phyrexian Gorig attacked head on. Radiant confronted Urza directly and tore out the Mightstone and Weakstone from his skull. She brought the planeswalker's dying body to Serra's Sanctum, where she tried to reunite the two stones. This caused a blast of power that destroyed Serra's palace. Before her form was rent apart, Radiant's last words were, "I am the mad one!", a final realization of her naivete. With the plane collapsing around them, Urza charged the ship's powerstone core with the magical energies from the plane, giving the Weatherlight a renewable resource with enough power to travel the planes independently of its planeswalker creator.[1][2][3]
