Amy Demicco, better known as Amy the Amazonian or Amyzonian, is an American Magic player from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. A mechanical engineer by trade, she is a full-time Magic streamer.

Description

Amy has been playing Magic since 2009. She learned how to play in her freshman year of college, and mostly played Commander until MTG Arena's release. She began streaming MTG Arena on the first day the Closed Beta could be streamed at twitch.tv. As her stream grew, she planned on taking time off from working to go back to school and study software development, and in August 2018 that's exactly what she did. She increased her streaming schedule to 20 hours a week. Over that semester, her viewership increased to the point where she was considering streaming as a source of income.

She participated in the Mythic Invitational Boston 2019, where she ended sixteenth. When she received the invitation to the Mythic Invitational, she knew it was her opportunity to go from part-time to full-time streaming. She also got financial support from some sponsors, most notably TCGPlayer, which helped her turn her hobby into a day-to-day job. That year, she also played as a challenger in Mythic Championship III.[1] Later, she also participated in Mythic Championship IV through VI.

Nowadays, she plays Drafts, Brawl, and other formats, streaming every day of the week except Monday and typically for 6-8 hours. She is known to talk with the chat, and her cat - Scraps McGee, Cat Detective - makes a regular appearance.

Amy is regularly hired by Wizards of the Coast to present preview and review videos of Alchemy sets.[2][3] However, as independent creator, she can also be critical of the company.[4] Gavin Verhey created the test card The Zonian Brawler and its type Zonian in her honor.[5]
