Secret Lair Drop Series: Secretversary 2021

MSCHF (pronounced "Mischief") is a drop of cards in the Secret Lair product range and a continuation of the Secret Lair Drop Series.[2][3] It was available for purchase from the Wizards of the Coast webshop secretlair.wizards.com from November 20 to November 27, 2021.

Description

This drop is a collaboration with MSCHF, an American art collective based in Brooklyn, New York, known for their shocking, irreverent takes on popular culture. MSCHF has produced a wide range of artworks, ranging from browser plugins to sneakers, physical products, social media channels, and photographs.[4] They specialize in limited art drops and their pieces are often controversial.

Each of the card designs is inspired by an infamous MSCHF drop. Three of the cards are "Gold Foil-Etched" and two are Traditional Foil "with Silver Laminate".[5] The price is $39.99.

Card list

Drop Card number Card/Token Artist Notes
MSCHF 364 Swords to Plowshares MSCHF Gold foil-etched. Swords 2 Plowshares is a reference to MSCHF's gun buyback program, "Guns 2 Swords", where you could mail them a gun and they would smelt it into a sword. The spelling of the card name breaks the rule about cards having unique names.
MSCHF 365 Grim Tutor MSCHF Traditional foil with silver laminate. Borderless art. A reference to MSCHF's project "Death of the Influencer". An unnamed influencer who was the “son of Andy Warhol and Paris Hilton” was reportedly killed by a password reset. Their Instagram account @deathoftheinfluencer has not posted anything, yet has 1 million followers.[6]
MSCHF 366 Blood Moon MSCHF Gold foil-etched. A reference to MSCHF's project "Bull & Moon", an app that lets you pick stocks based on your astrological sign.[7]
MSCHF 367 Cut // Ribbons MSCHF Gold foil-etched. A reference to MSCHF's project "Satan Shoes", customized Nike Air Max 97’s with a drop of human blood in the midsole. Created by MSCHF in collaboration with the rapper Lil Nas X, only 666 pairs of the $1,018 (each) Satan Shoes were made. Nike was outraged.[6]
MSCHF 368 Teferi's Puzzlebox MSCHF Traditional foil with silver laminate. A reference to MSCHF's project "MSCHF Box". They sold unique mystery boxes for $100 boxes that contained items from between $1 and $7,000. If you didn't open the box and send it back to them after 100 days they would pay you $1,000.[8]

Bonus card

As an extra, the drop comes with a surprise bonus card.
