Description
The format was created by MTGCardsmith user East2West in response to the rising prices of paper magic. It was introduced on March 16, 2019 in an article titled Baroque [1].
The first ever match of Baroque was played on March 21st 2019 between East2west (Blue/Black Sky Control) and Sir Selah (Nic Fit). Sir Selah won in a best of three becoming the first player to ever win a game of Baroque.
Constructed decks must contain a minimum of sixty cards. There is no maximum deck size; however, you must be able to shuffle your deck with no assistance. Like other constructed formats, a sideboard of at most fifteen cards can be used.
With the exception of basic lands (land cards that have the "basic" supertype) and cards like Relentless Rats, a player's combined deck and sideboard may not contain more than four of any individual card, counted by its English card title equivalent.
Banned List
As of March 17, 2019 no cards have been banned in the format.
