Varena was one of the best fighters in the House of Fentesk in Kush. She was a lean, angular woman with flowing red hair.
She was tasked by her House Master to test Garth's power, then quickly became a lover and a friend of him; this caused a relation of strange friendship and rivality with Noreen. She helped rescuing Garth from Zarel's prison. In the last match of the festival she was paired against Garth, who was forced to kill her. Luckily, she was revived by Hammen.
She survived the Time of Troubles, having helped Garth, and became the new Grand Master of the Arena.[1]
