The Official Guide to Portal Second Age is a complete companion to the Portal Second Age card set and provides useful tips and details to enhance gaming experience. It is a softcover paperback with 72 pages, written by Beth Moursund, Henry Stern and Bill Rose with an introduction by Richard Garfield. It was published in the USA by Running Press on August 16, 1998. In the UK, another edition was published by Carlton Books.

Portal is the simplified version of Magic: The Gathering, with its own card designs and new sets being added at regular intervals. This book is the only way for players to see all of the Portal Second Age cards and learn the best techniques for using them. 150 color illustrations.

Description

Several editions of the book exist. The American edition uses the art design of the original Portal set on its cover and credits Beth Moursund as the only editor. The British edition uses the Second Age art direction on the cover. One printing lacks a credit on the cover. Another printing credits Wizard of the Coast's Game Designers. The three writers are named on the title page of the book.

This book is the original source of the storyline of the set, which takes place on the Dominarian continent of of Caliman.[1][2]
