Lorwyn is the 43^rd Magic: The Gathering expansion. Released on October 12, 2007, the expansion is set on the plane of Lorwyn, and featured a tribal mechanic and the first planeswalker cards.

The card type "Tribal", introduced in Future Sight on the tribal Rebel aura Bound in Silence, was revisited.

Lorwyn was notable for its use of unusual creature types, including Faeries, Giants, Kithkin, Merfolk, Shapeshifters, and Treefolk.
